Kiss Me Heroine Make Review

1059359781Kiss me is known for their super popular mascara – Kiss me Heroine Make Long and Curl Mascara. It’s sworn by many youtubers and bloggers as a HG mascara for super long and thick eyelashes like brand new. They recently came out with a newer version called the Kiss me Heroine Make Long and Curl Advanced Film Mascara which seems to be the 3rd Gen. I originally got this for my mom @ watsons for around RM45 i think. Which is still considered a drugstore priced mascara. She didn’t like it for one specific reason (which I’ll talk later) so she gave it to me. So is it really worth the hype? I’ll be reviewing this HG product along with the compliment product – Kiss me Heroine Make mascara remover & the Kiss me Heroine Make smooth liquid eyeliner.

the thing about kiss me is that they have luxurious packaging for their price. You know how the words/designs tend to fade if you put them in your makeup bag? I got these products quite some time ago and the words haven’t even faded one bit. They even still have the reflective glossy printing.

Kiss me Heroine Make smooth liquid eyeliner – brown

this eyeliner has a long pointed felt tip. it’s also pretty pigmented and glides on really smoothly like its name.

See Instagram post here where I test out its waterproofness along with the mascara! As you can see the eyeliner doesn’t fade too easily unless you rub it really harshly. if I wear this mascara it stays on all day without the need for touch-ups! Plus it’s natural and is perfect for a super thin line because any thicker it will make my hooded eyelids look weird.

As you can see i’m not really an expert in drawing my eyeliner lol but you can most definitely see that there is a difference in before and after!

I’ve tried a lot of eyeliners from liquid, to gel, to pencil and I feel this eyeliner is really easy to use without breaking the bank. It doesn’t fade too easily as well as long as you don’t rub your eyes too hard!

Kiss me heroine make long and curl mascara Advanced Film

The claims for this product is that they help hold the curl, lengthen, volumize your lashes while also being smudgeproof and waterproof. It also seems to have fibers as well.

First off, i was pretty blessed with long and curled lashes all my life. Never had to use an eyelash curler as well. So i really couldn’t test out the curling claim, unfortunately. Because i have super natural long and curled eyelashes, i’ve never been picky with mascara. The only mascaras i’ve tried are from Maybelline and i find them great for their price. I also opt for a more natural look so i usually get brown mascaras (Maybelline Hypercurl mascara in brown).

As you can see from the picture, with just one layer of product on my bare lashes, my eyelashes are instantly longer but also… clumpy. Some people can bear with the clumpy, spider-web like look, for me I JUST CANT. At first thought, i can already feel how thick and black the product is as it tends to get into my waterline when applying as well. OCD me proceeds to get a spoolie to try and separate my lashes and evening out the product. Much better, right?

You can most definitely tell that there is an amazing lengthening and volumizing result, but also how I can feel my lashes are about to drop off from how dry it is.

Proceed to my Instagram post for the video (swipe right) of how I test out the waterproof and smudge proof claims.

It was impossible to remove the mascara completely with just water. even with cleansing oil it only managed to get half the product off. In the end I was left with a red, black stain on my hand as I type this. Now, remember when I said my mom didn’t like this? It was because it was waterproof. My mom doesn’t like waterproof mascaras as she finds it hell to remove. Don’t worry though, there is an easy way to remove it which is the next product.

Obviously this proves all its claims of lengthening, curling, volumizing, waterproof, smudgeproof all in one.

So with such an exceptional product in my hands, I have to love this right? Um… not really. Don’t get me wrong, this is an amazing product. Especially great for those with short, straight lashes, but I don’t like how clumpy it applies and how hard it is to remove this product. I’d just prefer a more natural, less clumpy mascara. If you have short, stubby and straight lashes without minding about the clumpiness – then you will LOVE this product. For me, it was a… I’ll only use it when I have an event kind of product.

Kiss me Heroine Make mascara remover

The Kiss Me mascara remover comes in a pretty princess pink packaging. Although it does seem that the newer version for this now comes in a baby blue packaging instead. It has a short stubby wand coated in a thick, translucent solution.

My instagram post here shows the mascara remover in action as i use it with my Maybelline hypercurl mascara.

So i tried the Kiss me long & curl mascara again the next day and suprisingly there was less cluminess but still over the top lengthening and volumizing results!

So this time i put the kiss me mascara remover to the test with its best selling but extremely hard to remove mascara. It didn’t come off with vigirous rubbing from warer nor cleansing oil, so will this do the trick?

I applied the mascara wand rubbing from bottom to top like a normal mascara, letting the solution soak into my lashes. Once i was done coating all of my lashes, i waited for around 30 seconds or longer for it to melt the mascara. Hence, the black eye.

Once the time was up, i used a cry cotton pad to wipe away the product. Gently going in 2 or three times to make sure the solution and mascara was wiped away.

Fear not, if you love the Kiss me Heroine Make long & curl mascara but hate how hard it is to remove it, you’ll love this product. The mascara took no more than 1 minute for me to completely remove it and wash it off with water. This also works with any mascara, especially waterproof ones!

In a nutshell,

I loved all of the Kiss me products I’ve reviewed in this post and genuinely do find them great for their affordable prices. Although the mascara was a little clumpy, the results were dramatic and I will find myself using it for more important events instead!
